Avoid this frustrating machine

I bought this several months ago from home depot and quickly became aware of a major defect in the design. The first month I had to use a cookie sheet to drain the reservoir at least 4 times in order to remove the filter to clean it. The crazy drain tube is in the bottom of the machine so no way to get a bucket or anything other than a 1/2 cookie sheet to drain it. BTW it takes 7 cookie sheets and about 25 minutes to drain so you can remove the filter to clean. I thought that this was only when it clogged during use but no anytime you need to clean the filter you get to play the cookie sheet game. I have complained to Homdepot who told me I needed to have returned it within 48 hr of receipt and referred me to LG. I have a called LG and opened a complaint but no response. You would think that when you buy a top of the line product that they would want to keep the customer happy. My wife hates this machine and is not happy - I am not happy I had to wait a month for delivery of this only to find out what kind of a nightmare I have purchased. So much high technology - programmable wiFi but what an idiotic design for the basic plumbing. Avoid this machine like the plague.

Worst laundry product I have ever owned. Constantly clogging and leaking and takes 6 hours to wash and dry. I have owned mine for 2 long years and and finally getting rid of it. The only reason I kept it for as long as I did was because my laundry room was built around it and it was such an inconvenience and cost to redo it. NO MORE LG.

I just had the washing machine installed today. The HE soap dispenser and fabric softener dont dispense into the washing machine. They are set to Auto dispense but it keeps saying that they are empty. The machine simply doesnt work properly. Looks like its going back.

Ive had this since April 2018. I got used to the extra long wash times and have never been satisfied with how this thing fails to dry clothes. But Im writing this right now because it refuses to drain. Ive cleaned the filter and I basically use the Tub Clean cycle after every load but the best I can guess is that a sock has got sucked in made it past the filter and is stuck somewhere. This thing has sucked sleeves of shirts and other clothing into the drain area and shredded them. It also sucks socks and small clothing into the filter on more occasions than Id like leading to a tidal wave of water pouring out and causing water damage in my wash room. Im not sure what to do about it right now.

It takes 7.5 hours to wash/dry small load of clothes which normally takes 1.5 hrs to wash and dry using other washer/dyer.

LG the worst washing machine that in the history of my almost 50 years I have had the worst experience taparte the most expensive buy this washing machine because I was told is the best has never washed well my clothes never told me at first you put a lot started to put half the clothes when it s upone its heavy-duty but ive never cleaned my clothes well Very bad experience and I would never recommend it for anything to the contrary whenever I can tell you not to buy that washing machine is the worst

I had the 2.8 combo ventless washer/dryer installed in my kitchen between the sink and stove.I could not have a 220 line installed therefore the LG is perfect. ln addition I would not be able to exterior vent.This machine washes and dries a full weeks load with ease.I am very pleased with my purchase.

I tried really hard to like this unit even devising special programs to make it work for me. But I have given up so frustrated with results. First the unit is complex. We have many guests staying at our home when we arent there. We have several pages of instructions - if you want to wash and dry towels if you are doing laundry where everything can be dried if you are doing laundry and stuff cant go into dryer if you only want to dry stuff and for sheets we say just leave as we have special program that requires a day and produces very wrinkled sheets even though we use softener and steam burst. I have used combo units often in Europe with little difficulty. I like all the wash options on this unit but totally dislike the combo element. It takes many more hours to do laundry than with separate washer/dryer. Quality of cleaning is okay not great. Dryer is horrible just a massive wrinkle maker. Even when clothes come out damp they are super wrinkled. I tried reducing spin as many reviews say this is a big part of the problem but many settings require use of high spin cycle. Unit adds much frustration to my life. My birthday and Xmas present is replacing unit. I have never felt so wasteful in a purchase usually appliances work fine for me. Recommend not trying this unit as it takes so long to do laundry and clothes are so wrinkled.

We were worried when we bought this washer dryer combo about 3 weeks ago had it installed in the kitchen for my disabled daughter who cant used the stairs to get to our normal sized pair. We love this washer. It was bought for her to do her own clothes but its so convenient we are washing dish towels jackets and Any thing on the first floor. We had read that it takes forever 5-6 hours to dry? Nope our longest has been 3 hours for towels? Things are always wrinkled? Nope in fact my daughter has a shirt that comes out of our big dryer a mess it came out of here beautifully unwrinkled. We read the directions never load it more than 1/2 full as the instructions say carefully pick the cycles we need and start it. Its not any louder than the dishwasher since its so well located and tells my daughters iPad when its done things are folded and put away before they are cool. Lol.

Error: Reset and Unplug

Tried several times to connect ThinQ app on my iPhone but it stops installation at 40 percent. I havent used the the Sidekick Pedestal Washer yet because the main display says error reset and unplug. I successfully washed a load of king sized sheets and after 5 hours of washing and drying they are soft and clean. We use this combo unit upstairs for small loads.

Ive purchased LG washer -combo 18 months ago. one year manufactoryfactory warranty its expired on lower dryer handle is broken Ive called LG company they trying to charge me $117 how come ???18 months and handle is broke. I agree if that will be five years usage. I have a big hope that LG company is going to call me or contact with my email and they will try to fix that problem somehow 9807224508

I purchased this washer/dryer combo about three months ago. When it first came out of the box it did not work at all. I was so disappointed. However an LG repair person came quickly after I called the hotline to explain the problem. Apparently it was a defective computer board. These machines like all appliances these days are heavily dependent on computer technology. After the Board was replaced it functioned properly. Sometimes the Sidekick would not work so I would have to unplug and reboot the system. I agree with all of the previous comments. Cleaning the lint trap is a pain and must be done every week or two depending on the amount of usage. Cleaning it frequently is especially important if you use Bounce dryer sheets which tends to end up in the trap. If this machine can last for another 3 years without any further problems I would be greatly satisfied.

My new washer/dryer combo is perfect for my single person home. Ive never loaded it to more than 40 capacity so the longest cycle has been ~4.5 hours. Perfect for me because I wash at night or while Im at work. Im so glad I dont have to worry about cleaning the vent to the outside of the house Ive cleaned the wet lint trap 3 times a bit of a pain but dont need to do it often enough to matter. The machine looks great in my laundry/pet room very sleek and cool. My clothes come out warm and fluffy no wrinkles. A perfect addition to the right household. :
